ERA Equipment CO2 calculator
Equipment definition

The equipment weight is a determining factor for the impact of production, transport and end-of-life.
The type of machine and version name is for your own reference.

Equipment production

A lifecycle assessment study of the equipment (LCA) might be available from the equipment manufacturer.
If unavailable, the Calculator will provide a rough estimation based on the equipment's weight.

Lifetime and utilisation

This section defines what part of the impact of production can be assigned to you, your ownership period. This is done via the total operating hours. Operating hours are hours that the equipment will be actually consuming energy. Measured data are preferred.
Do not include hours when the equipment is rented but not in use.

Maintenance

The calculated impact of oil consumption is first calculated per year and then divided over the operating hours per year.

End-of-life

‘End-of-life’ means the treatment of materials after the equipment is eventually discarded.

If an existing LCA is available, you may insert the impact on climate change result of the end-of-life phase. If unavailable, the calculator will provide an indication based on the weight of the equipment and the expected treatment route.
