Lifetime and utilisation

This section defines what part of the impact of production can be assigned to you, your ownership period. This is done via the total operating hours. Operating hours are hours that the equipment will be actually consuming energy. Measured data are preferred.
Do not include idle hours (for instance hours the equipment is rented but not in use).

Maintenance

The calculated impact of oil consumption is first calculated per year and then divided over the operating hours per year.

End-of-life

‘End-of-life’ means the treatment of materials after the equipment is eventually discarded. 

If an existing LCA is available, you may insert the impact on climate change result of the end-of-life phase. If unavailable, the calculator will provide an indication based on the weight of the equipment and the expected treatment route.
